Growing up as a daughter of a medical doctor I was very familiar with traditional medicine, but somehow I knew that there was something else, I did not know what, so I started asking around. In 1990 when Metaphysical books written by Conny Mendez landed in my hands I felt I was on the right track to finding the rest of the answers. Since then I have been learning about energy healing through authors such as Caroline Myss, Louise Hay, Brian Weiss, Barbara Brennan, Shirley MacLaine and others, and talking with everyone I felt could talk to about “these kinds of things”. The Universe has been very generous with me on this, one way or another I get to know the most fascinating people in the world that teach me something new and point me in the right direction. I have experienced healing work through meditation, visualization, Bach flowers, Crystals, Chakra alignments, and understanding that my thoughts are the origin of all. It was in 2002 when I finally realized that my body, mind and soul were so connected that nothing could happen in me in an isolated way. Until then, my spirit and my body were not on the same page, and my mind, well .... she had a life on her own! Except when I was dancing, they did not hang out together much. I am a believer that holistic healing walks parallel to, and complements traditional medicine.
Life took me to my bed for a while, most of the time in pain. Without dancing, working, or going out I found myself with lots of books, music, and thinking to do. I don't know in which moment I came to the conclusion that I have done so much reading, gone through holistic and traditional healings, taken care of my physical body, (by then I have added Yoga to my life style) and I felt there was still something missing! What was it?
I opened myself to receive guidance and to accept the answer and shortly after that two things happened that gave me a break in the pain and changed my life: a friend introduced me to a Reiki practitioner who offered a treatment and right after that a neighbor told me about Reflexology and gave me the name of the person she was going to for treatments. I included both in my healing plan and soon after I was out and about, I started swimming and feeling at peace and happy. I made a commitment with myself of learning both techniques and practicing them in order to be available for people who could need them in their life. I am very blessed and deeply grateful that I am very close to meeting this commitment. I am a Reiki Master Teacher and a Certified Reflexologist. I am currently attending the Florida School of Massage to obtain the Massage Therapist License to be allowed to practice Reflexology in the State of Florida, and at the same time I am applying for the National Certification for Reflexology.
